My studio is based on virtual and physical synthesisers, sequencers and samplers. There are also two electric guitars ;-).
My whole music production I do in Logic Pro DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). Being anchored in electronic music from 70′ and 80′ – it could not miss instruments from that era. Of course, the availability and prices for original instruments from 70′ and 80′ make those instruments out of range for most of people. Thankfully now-a-days on the music market exist companies that offer clones of those iconic instruments for a fraction of the original price.
Talking about iconic instruments: did you hear about ARP2600? Roland SH-101? Roland TR-808? Moog System55? Today you can have – identical in terms of sound – modern clones of those giants, that are created even with the same electronic chips and internal structure.
Those are analog instruments, which means that the sound is purely an effect of the internal electrical current circuit. Some of them have to be patched to get any sound, some not. Also the communication between them may be obtained not only by MIDI signals but the control voltage. More about these technicalities I’ll put in a separate entry of my blog.
My creations are amateur-ish, and are done in free time after work. I’m trying to extend my knowledge, skills and workshop continuously reading, listening and trying to improve my works. So please – be understanding to my imperfection.
